Help Us Help Others
Donations are essential to Hospice of Chenango County because the reimbursement rate that Medicare, Medicaid, and private companies pay is often less than the cost of care.
While some patients sign up for Hospice early when they require less costly care, many patients do not. The daily cost of care will depend on many factors including an individual’s diagnosis, the stage of disease and medications.
Inevitably, even the strongest patients decline and find they need more frequent nurse visits, more medicine and expensive medical equipment. We provide all these items, but never a bill.
We fill the gap through fund-raising. We feature annual events like the Dan Elwood Memorial Run/Walk and the Mary Jane Prindle Memorial Golf Tournament. You can purchase poinsettias in winter and geraniums in the spring. And in December we offer memorial ornaments during our “Light up a Life” Campaign.
Hospice is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, so direct contributions are tax-deductible. No matter how you choose to support Hospice, you can feel good knowing that every dollar helps us to provide compassionate care.
